You can type or say what you’re looking for in a natural way—such as “eco-friendly, sustainable clothing presentations from last quarter”—and Windows Search will look across your PC and connected Microsoft 365 content to surface relevant files, even when the file names don’t match your wording.
In short, it reimagines search from a simple keyword lookup into a more intuitive, context-aware assistant for finding documents, images, and settings.
How does context-aware search actually work?
Improved Windows Search uses AI to understand the intent and context behind your query, not just the literal words you type.
For example, an employee at a fashion brand like “Contoso Fashion” might search for “eco-friendly, sustainable clothing lookbook” without remembering the exact file name.
